  • How can I become a member of STITCH?

To become a member of STITCH, you must be a current UCSD student. For more details on how to join, see the JOIN US page.​

  • Who can become a member of STITCH?

Only UCSD students can become STITCH members and receive member benefits, which include free materials and free crochet lessons/tutorials. See the JOIN US page for more details.

Even if you are not a UCSD student, you can still follow us on our social media! There, we post new products and more!

  • How can I improve my crocheting skills?

​Practice! Whether that's coming to our GBMs regularly, or watching youtube tutorials, practicing with any kind of project will help further your skills! Crochet is very translatable, and once you know how to do all the basic stitches, you can make practically anything! Aim to find comfortable hand placement with your hook and yarn (based on hand dominance).​

  • What are some basic skills I can learn through STITCH?

    • Magic Circle: A convenient way to start a circular projects​

    • Chain: A maneuver to add length or stitches to your project

    • Slip Stitch: A simple stitch to go down a row of stitches while adding minimal length

    • Single Crochet: Adds more length than Slip Stitch

    • Half-Double Crochet: not the same as Single Crochet, adds more length than Single Crochet

    • Double Crochet: Adds more length than Half-Double Crochet

    • Triple Crochet: Adds more length than Double Crochet
